AHEAD: Case-Based Process Model Explanation of Asymmetric Threats
نویسندگان
چکیده
AHEAD (Analogical Hypothesis Elaborator for Activity Detection) is a research software system under development for hypothesis elaboration. Although AHEAD embodies a domain-independent approach, we are currently applying it to the task of elaborating detected hostile activities. In this application, AHEAD is given as input (1) structured evidence and (2) a hypothesis concerning the activities of an asymmetric adversary (e.g., a terrorist organization). The system outputs a detailed symbolic argument supporting and/or opposing the given hypothesis. AHEAD combines case-based/analogical reasoning techniques based on the FIRE Analogy Server (Forbus, 2001), with qualitative functional process models based on the Task-Method-Knowledge framework (Stroulia & Goel, 1995, Murdock, 2001), to extract additional implications of the hypothesis that are necessary for developing a coherent argument that supports and/or contradicts it. This technical report presents a preliminary functional architecture for the AHEAD system, which is being developed for the DARPA EELD (Evidence Extraction and Link Discovery) program (POC: T. Senator).

Designing and Explanation of Career Plateau Model with Emphasis on the Role of Ethical Factors (Case study: Tehran University of Medical Sciences)
Background: New organizational structures have changed rapidly, and progressive ladders have become short and flat, so human resources in the organization have faced various threats, including the career plateau. Lack of attention to ethical criteria as a double factor in the management process can be one of the causes of career plateau. Therefore, the present study attempted to design and expl...
متن کاملExplanation of a process-based model for crisis medicine: a qualitative study
Background: The goal of crisis medicine management is to provide uniform ways to encounter with, interfere and renovation in the case of disasters in health system. With regard to the importance of hospitals’ awareness against crisis, the present study has tried to explain a process based model for crisis medicine to prevent inter- and intra- hospital incidents and minimize the resulting physic...
متن کاملNonlinear Asymmetric Effects of Devaluation on Trade Balance: A Case Study of Iran and South Korea
The present paper analyzes the existence of a long-run relationship between the trade balance and exchange rate of Iran and South Korea by a new approach. It proposes an asymmetric co-integrating NARDL model by two positive and negative partial sum decompositions which can use mixed I (0) and I (1) variables by bounds testing approach. The proposed tests are based on calculated F –statistics an...

Place attachment is the emotional connection that develops between a person and thephysical environment around them. After more than forty years of research in the field ofplace attachment, the cause and effect as well as the physical factors that affect it have notbeen determined. The features and specifications of a place in both physical and socialdimensions have an influence on the developm...
متن کاملPhysical modelling of caving propagation process and damage profile ahead of the cave-back
The cavability assessment of rock mass cavability and indicating the damage profile ahead of a cave-back is of great importance in the evaluation of a caving mine operation, which can influence all aspects of the mine operation. Due to the lack of access to the caved zones, our current knowledge about the damage profile in caved zones is very limited. Among the different approaches available, p...
